Student activities

Your Student Advisory Council (SAC) and SETAC are organising several activities for you at the next SETAC Europe annual meeting in Milan. We are convinced these are of interest to you!

Mentor lunch

This activity will take place on Monday, 16 May 2011, from 13.00 to 14.00 hrs (room and time to be confirmed). In a relaxing atmosphere, you will be given the chance to get in contact with established scientists from all over Europe. While enjoying your lunch, you can chat with people who have experience of working in your research field. Furthermore - and maybe more importantly - you have the opportunity to build on your own network and get to know not only established scientists but also other student members of SETAC.

Are you interested to attend this event? Tickets are free and will be available at the on-site registration desk on Monday morning 16 May. Please note that the Mentor Lunch is limited to approx. 80 participants and seats will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

Student party

The student party will take place on Tuesday 17 May at “Le Banque”, from 20.30 hrs onwards. Very popular in Milan, Le Banque is a sophisticated restaurant-lounge-club on the main square near La Scala. Enjoy an evening with drinks and canapés in the fabulous atmosphere of a 1920s bank vault and join other (non) students on the glowing, red dance floor!

The price for an entrance ticket is €30; this includes one drink ticket and buffet. Participants must pre-book at time of registration to obtain a ticket.

Student assembly

A Student Assembly will be held on Wednesday, 18 May 2011, from 10.30 to 11.30 hrs, in room “Orange 1”. During this meeting you will be informed about past and ongoing activities of the SAC. Furthermore, you can elect new people and the new chairman for the SAC representing you within SETAC Europe for the following 2 years.
