Best Publication Award

The SETAC Europe Best Publication Awards honour outstanding contributions to environmental sciences in the form of a publication in a peer reviewed scientific journal.

Since 2008, SETAC Europe are nominating three Best Publication Awards. SETAC Europe is calling for nominations for the 2011 Best Publication Awards for papers published in the year 2010:

  1. AstraZeneca Award for the best publication in Risk assessment, modelling and theoretical studies
  2. RifCon Award for the best publication in Ecotoxicology, eco-epidemiology and biological/biochemical studies
  3. Eurofins Award for the best publication in Chemical analysis and environmental monitoring

To apply for one of these awards, please submit the following documents to the SETAC Europe office before 31 December 2010:

  • the manuscript as pdf-file;
  • a CV, including date of birth, past experience and list of publications;
  • a statement, signed by the supervisor, confirming that the candidate was the leading author for submitted article and that he/she carried out the main parts of the reported research.

Applicants must be students or early career scientists (within 2 years from PhD graduation OR within 5 years from MSc graduation if from industry). The awards will be presented on 19 May 2011 at the SETAC Europe 21st Annual Meeting in Milan.

Note!
The article must have been published or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal in the calendar year prior to the meeting. The winner is invited to the SETAC Europe Annual Meeting,where he or she may present the work, either as a poster or as a platform presentation. Travel expenses will be (partly) funded by the sponsors. SETAC Europe will register the candidate free of charge.
